Research Interests
Focused on high-performance, lightweight, and multifunctional polymer materials, with emphasis on developing high-end applications for these materials. Collaborated with numerous companies to develop urgently needed new materials and products, some of which have been showcased at internationally renowned exhibitions such as the K Show in Düsseldorf, Germany, the NPE in the U.S., and the Chinaplas Exhibition.
Received funding from over 20 companies for projects focusing on the performance enhancement, lightweighting, and functionalization of polymer materials such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), EVA, nylon, and biodegradable materials. Research also includes advanced forming equipment and processes for these materials.
Several newly developed materials have been applied in high-value-added products, including cables, pipelines, fuel tanks, rescue boats, environmental chemical storage tanks, specialized packaging containers, mechanical components, amusement and sports products, and home furnishing. Some of these materials have achieved import substitution and innovation upgrades, creating significant economic benefits for collaborating companies.
New materials and products developed in collaboration with companies include:
Large-diameter self-crosslinking polyethylene pipes that do not require water boiling
Lightweight (foamed) polyolefin materials
Multi-layer structures for rescue boats
Low-temperature-resistant, leak-proof fuel tanks
High-performance specialty material containers
Sewage treatment equipment made of special structured materials
High-performance functional polymer powders
Co-developed over 20 invention patents with industry partners.
